Tell us how we’re doing and you could win big! Keep an eye out on May 4th for an e-mail from ARMYHousingSurvey@celassociates.com containing a link to your 2017 Army Survey. This important survey will help ensure the continued success of the RCI program in meeting your needs and will help guide the Army and Corvias in the development of future improvements to your homes and services. The survey results are confidential, so please share your true opinions and thoughts. All residents who complete the survey will be entered into a weekly raffle to win some great prizes to include an Amazon Alexa and $50 Amazon gift card, $250 gift card, KitchenAid Mixer and a Xbox 1S. The grand prize winner will receive a month of free rent.
Join us as we celebrate Military Spouse Appreciation Day on Friday, May 12th. This is a special day to honor the husbands, wives and loved ones of our service members for their contributions and sacrifices. We salute these unsung heroes for managing frequent relocations, family separations, multiple deployments, changing jobs and overcoming language and cultural barriers.
Corvias Military Living would like to thank all military spouses. As a way to say show our appreciation, we are giving away flowers to plant in your garden. All residents are invited to visit their Community Center on Friday, May 12th from 9am-noon to pick up the flowers, and enjoy light refreshments.
Your Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is the stipend the Department of Defense allocates to pay for the majority of rent and utilities. When you live on post, BAH includes rent, average utilities, fire and police services, municipal services, as well as services like lawn care, trash removal, pest control, home maintenance, community amenities, project costs and future improvements. Click here to learn more about how Corvias uses BAH.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), corded window coverings are one of the top five hidden hazards in American homes, with infants and children dying each year from accidental strangling from window cords. Since these blind and curtain cords are a serious risk for our children, Corvias Military Living wants to remind you and your family on the proper steps to staying safe. Be sure to keep all window cords out of the reach of children. This includes ensuring that all furniture and toys are away from windows and if possible, moved to another wall. Examine all shades and blinds in the home. If your home does not have the cordless blind style, make sure there are no accessible cords on the front, side, or back of the product. Do not place cribs, beds, and furniture close to the windows because children can climb on them and gain access to the cords. Make loose cords inaccessible. If the window shade has looped bead chains or nylon cords, install tension devices to keep the cord taut.
Following these tips will help keep you and your family safe from this hidden hazard. More information can be found by visiting the Window Safety Cord Council’s website, windowcoverings.org.
Don’t forget! Applications for the Corvias Foundation $5,000 Educational Grants for spouses of active-duty service members are due Thursday, May 4. The application is available online at corviasfoundation.org.
Make a few extra dollars by selling items you no longer use at the Community Yard Sale on Saturday, May 6th from 8am-12pm. Residents can set up their own yard sale or shop other great deals at this base wide yard sale. There is just one simple rule: residents may advertise with one sign in front of their home only. Other signs indicating location or direction of sale are prohibited. Register your home for the yard sale by contacting your Community Office. Residents can pick up a list of participating homes on Friday, May 5th. Happy selling and shopping!
Break out the gardening gloves! Corvias will celebrate Yard of the Month from May to September. The yard of the month program will reward those who make a special effort to improve their yard and beautify their home. Each yard of the month winner will receive a yard of the month sign to be displayed in front of the home, and a$25 gift card.
Judging and Rules:
Judging will be conducted by the 15th of the month. Photos of the top 3 yards for each community will be posted on our Facebook page.
The yard with the most “likes” will win. Winners will be notified. A resident may win only once during the 2017 Yard of the Month program.
The Community Center pool will open on Saturday, May 27 at 11am for Memorial Day weekend. The pool is open to all Corvias residents. Residents will need to provide a pool pass to access the pool. Residents are permitted to bring 4 guests. Residents who do not have a pool pass should pick one up at the Community Office.
For more information on pool passes or openings, please contact the Community Office. We look forward to a summer of fun in the sun at the pools!
Please see below for the hours of operation for the summer:
- Monday-Thursday: 11am-7pm

Take advantage of spring weather! While the temperatures outside are comfortable, use a window or ceiling fan instead of the air conditioner. A fan only requires a tenth of the energy needed to run an air conditioner.
