We’re now on Facebook!
You asked and we listened! Corvias Military Living at Fort Meade is now on Facebook! Facebook provides an extension of your community and another way for us to better serve you. You will find information about Fort Meade, receive important reminders and updates, learn about resources, view housing tips and so much more. Come on over and like us.
Plus, supercharge your social experience with us and like the Corvias Military Living Facebook page as well. We will see you there!
We are excited to announce big changes are happening with payment options for residents at Corvias Military Living. You now have online and mobile rent payment options. This will save you time in your day and allow you to pay your rent 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from the comfort of your own home. If you are already set up with an allotment of your BAH going towards your home each month, this will not apply to you. However, it may apply in the event you need to pay a prorated amount for rent upon move-in or when you move-out and wish to pay an outstanding balance. Click here for a summary of your options.
Fort Meade is celebrating Independence Day on July 2 starting at 1600 at the Fort Meade Parade Field. Participants can enjoy live music from the Jazz Ambassadors, DJ's, a variety of delicious foods, games, rides, and of course one of the best fireworks shows around! This event is open to the public. Physical activity is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle for individuals and families. Thirty minutes of vigorous activity is recommended for adults while children need 60 minutes of play with moderate to vigorous activity level. The combination of physical activity and healthy food choices can help prevent a variety of diseases, maintain a healthy weight, build lean muscle and promote strong bone, muscle and joint development.
Individuals and families can incorporate fun and engaging activities into their everyday routine to help reach their physical activity goals. As summer approaches and you start to plan your summer vacations, think about planning an active vacation. Going to the beach? Instead of merely going to the beach, look for other activities such as fishing excursions, sports activities or biking along the beach you can include into your vacation time. Planning a trip to another city? Explore the city through a walking tour, skate at the local park, visit the zoo or amusement park. Camping is another active vacation that can challenge your physical activity while still having a great time relaxing.
There are many activities ranging from swimming, walking / running or biking you can do within your local community to help get you and your family active. For more information about the local activities visit Fort Meade MWR. For more tips and resources to help you and your family meet your goals visit www.kidshealth.org or www.letsmove.gov.
Take pride in your community. Please see a few friendly reminders below to keep your home and community looking great this summer.
- Don’t litter!
- If you see something, say something. As you enjoy your community, if you see something on the trails, playgrounds or other areas that need attention, please contact your community office and let them know.
- Take pride in your community – clean up after children and pets.
How do you get rid of “energy vampires?” Unplug appliances that are not in use. Do not leave them in standby mode
National Night Out, a community police and safety event, is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Parade Field. Corvias Military Living is partnering with the Directorate of Emergency Services to provide residents with demonstrations and activities.
This free event features safety demonstrations and displays from local and state law enforcement offices. Don’t miss the K-9 and Force Protection event.
National Night Out offers games and activities for children. Be sure to check out the inflatables, zip line, rock walls and much more. Residents can also cool off with light refreshments and cold drinks and treats.
The Post Library will be hosting the Summer Reading Program again this year! This year's Summer Reading Programs theme is "Read to the Rhythm". Kids can come to the library annex to pick up a reading log and a goodie bag. After seven days of reading they can bring their log back to the library to receive additional prizes. The program will continue all summer long. The last day to turn in their reading logs and pick up their prizes will be Saturday, August 29. For more information call 301-677-5677.
